Obamas to stay in Palm Springs at home of gay friends

Michelle and Barrack will stay at Ichpa Mayapan, the 3-bedroom, 4.5 bath, 8-acre, 11,000 sq. ft. Palm Springs retreat of WH decorator Michael S. Smith and his partner, James Costos, the U.S. ambassador to Spain and Andorra and a former HBO honcho who has raised a lot of money for Obama. They bought the Mayan fantasia, built in 1970, as a "maintenance-deferred" property for a weekend retreat. At the top is the listing video; at right a view of what it looks like now.
