Hey NRA! We got your concealed carry right here: Nebraska state senator sneaks gay marriage recognition into concealed carry amendment

Schumacher, AKSARBENT's first nominee for
Unicameral legislator of the year — 2015
The Nebraska Unicameral is debating a bill to extend the waiver of residency requirements for concealed carry permits to the spouses of active duty military members. Sen. Paul Schumacher, of Columbus, proposed an amendment (passed 38-0) to include in the waiver anyone receiving the federal benefits of a military spouse, which caused Sen. John Murante, of Gretna, to panic:
“I think we just recognized gay marriage,” he said moments after the vote.
