NPR, broadcasters: Nag cell firms to activate the FM radio chip in your smart phones
Evidently, carriers would rather have you stream radio content so they can charge you for data bandwidth rather than activating the FM chip in every smartphone. A coalition which includes NPR and NAB (the National Association of Broadcasters) wants you to, ahem, encourage carriers to get with the program. They've set up a web page for you to bitch. Use it, darlings. And tweet this post using the twitter button below, adding the hashtag of your cell phone carrier. (#ATT, #Verizon, etc.)
