John Lotter still on death row for murder of Teena Brandon, born 42 years ago today — even though Tom Nissen says he shot Brandon

In 2007, 14 years after the fact, Tom Nissen recanted his courtroom accusations and admitted to killing Teena Brandon, subject of the film Boys Don't Cry, as well as Lisa Lambert, 24, of Humboldt, NE and Phillip DeVine, 22, of Fairfield, Iowa. Nissen is serving three life sentences; Lotter could be executed any day.
