Quote of the day: Pope Francis invites war-mongering atheists to "desire peace"

Love the pontiff, hate the church, even when Francis sticks his foot in his mouth:

“I invite even nonbelievers to desire peace,” he said. “Let us all unite, either with prayer or with desire, but everyone, for peace.”

We liked Francis' take on trickle-down economics better; that the theory "expresses a crude and naïve trust in the goodness of those wielding economic power." Well put.
