Are German Olympic uniforms a sly dig at officially-sanctioned Russian homophobia?

The German Olympic Sports Confederation protests that "the uniforms are not a protest," maintaining that designs were approved before Russia protests had even begun. But the official description, reported Spiegel, claims the outfits "were created using colors and materials specially tailored to the conditions in Sochi."
