Rachel Maddow eulogizes PFLAG founder Jeanne Manford; an Manford anecdote from President Obama

There are a lot of mothers like Jeanne — hundreds of thousands of them, each with the wisdom and grace and the indefatigable will to defend their and others' children in the public square. Here are two from Nebraska testifying in Lincoln earlier this year in favor of an LGBT antibias ordinance, which was eventually blocked by the efforts of organizations like the Catholic Church and the Nebraska Family Council. (The Nebraska Family Council has shown that it is not above misrepresenting the dismissal of a homophobic bigot as a freedom-of-speech /religious-liberty issue in order to attack laws like the Lincoln ordinance.)
