Domestic dearth of nudists may cause Florida county to use tax dollars to lure Europeans

Pasco County, Florida, just north of Tampa,  has about a dozen nudist communities, including Lake Como, Caliente and Paradise Lakes. On Tuesday, commissioners voted 4-1 to award a tourism development grant of nearly $3,800 to PANDAbare, which stands for Pasco Area Nudist Development Association.
President Paul Brenot said, "Europeans go on vacation in July and August [two of Florida's worst tourist months] for weeks at a time. It's an untapped market."
...Brenot said the ads will be published in international magazines, such as "Internaturally," that cater to the naturist lifestyle. "They've told us there's a good chance we'll get the back cover," he said.
...State law says revenue from a 2 percent tax on hotel stays and short-term rentals may be used for activities, services, venues or events that promote tourism. ...Nude resorts have paid into the fund for years – Caliente alone has 100 rooms.
