Chillicothe, Ohio area gay teen beaten in viral cell phone video at Unioto High school speaks out

Glenn McEntyre of WBNS TV, Columbus, Ohio reported: "The ACLU says this incident is more than a school discipline issue. It's accusing the district of being derelict in its duties to protect students, which they say violates state and federal laws."
AKSARBENT first posted the facebook video of the vicious beating video on October 27, with initial reactions from school authorities.

"I got hit in the face a couple of times," the teen said. "I tried to ignore it like three times."
The teen and his mother said their repeated complaints to school administrators fell on deaf ears.
"He basically said 'There's a few gay kids in school and you're the only one they have problems with. So, what can you do to tone yourself down?'" said Zach.
"I was like, 'Wait a minute, you want my son to change, but you don't want this bully to change?"said Becky Collins, the teen's mother.
The ACLU of Ohio announced that they were representing the teen in possible legal action against the district.
"The school district should have protected (the teen) and they failed," James Hardiman, ACLU of Ohio Legal Director said.
