American Psychiatric Association president responds to Fox News shrink Keith Ablow's comments on Chaz Bono

First, WikiPedia's remarks:
On September 2 2011, Keith Ablow admitted he has never interviewed, diagnosed and treated Chaz Bono in a professional setting. Dr. Keith Ablow wrote in his opinion piece on FoxNews.com this statement, "Chaz Bono didn’t come to me for help, though. She didn’t ask me for my opinion. But when she decided to promote gender reassignment surgery in the media as a happy triumph, she ended up getting my attention, anyhow." http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/09/02/dont-let-your-kids-watch-chaz-bono-on-dancing-with-stars/
Ablow's professional opinion of Chaz Bono contradicts the American Psychological Association's diagnosis and treatment of Transgendered individuals. The APA recommends, "Be aware of your attitudes concerning people with gender-atypical appearance or behavior. Use names and pronouns that are appropriate to the person’s gender presentation and identity; if in doubt, ask their preference. Don’t make assumptions about transgender people’s sexual orientation, desire for surgical or hormonal treatment, or other aspects of their identity or transition plans. If you have a reason to need to know, ask. Read more, http://www.apa.org/topics/sexuality/transgender.pdf
Now it seems that Fox News has quietly and without explanation removed Ablow's written commentary from its web site. Finally, the President of the American Psychiatric Association had this to say in response to Ablow's unprofessional diatribe:
"...There is no evidence that viewing a television game show with a transgender contestant would induce Gender Identity Disorder in young people."
