Visa, MasterCard: KKK yes, WikiLeaks no
Assange in custody on trumped up rape charges; accuser linked to CIA-funded mass murderer

The Raw Story reports that mobile payments firm Xipwire, Inc. has stepped up in the wake of Visa and MasterCard's decisions to stop payments to WikiLeaks here, noting that both credit card processors accept payment for the Ku Klux Klan and for The Guardian and The New York Times, which have released and described many more secret diplomatic cables than WikiLeaks.

We may be seeing that promised WikiLeak dump of internal bank documents sooner rather than later...

Dana Kennedy at AOL news reported that Assange's "rape" charges are really Swedish "sex by surprise," charges (condom not used or breaking) which involve a fine of 5,000 kronor or about $715.

Elsewhere, a hacker group called "Operation Payback" crashed the website of PostFinance and promised an attack on PayPal, the online payment service that cut off WikiLeaks last week.

Firedoglake has reminded its readers of Counterpunch's revelation that Julian Assange’s chief accuser in Sweden has a significant history of work with anti-Castro groups, at least one of which is US funded and openly supported by a former CIA agent convicted in the mass murder of 73 Cubans on an airliner he was involved in blowing up.
