$79 billion Lockheed-Martin Air Force F22 boondoggle; a dangerous air show trick pony that kills its pilots

The plane, which is breathtakingly expensive, is constantly in the shop and has an unsolved oxygen problem that causes pilots to black out so frequently that many refuse to fly it. The so-called "Raptor" has never been used in combat and is now relegated to air shows.
If this mess is like previous Air Force procurement disasters, part of the blame can probably be laid at the desks of Pentagon bureaucrats who nonchalantly demand expensive change orders involving awkward modifications that drive designers mad.
