Along the way Colbert took swipes at the law DeSantis had to have passed to replace his original legislation to strip Disney's taxing authority of its Orlando environs after it was discovered that his first hamfisted stab at legislative revenge would have left many Orlando property owners owning a $2 billion tote bag of Disney debt. DeSantis' redo puts control of development in a board of DeSantis cronies and returns responsibility for taxes on Disney properties to Mickey's lap.
Colbert did not forget to rip DeSantis' cronies, who include a principal proponent of Florida's new Don't Say Gay law, a businessman who runs a right-wing Christian ministry, an attorney who runs the Orlando chapter of the right-wing Federalist Society (which brought America Justices Barrett and Kavanaugh) and the hunter who killed Bambi's mom.
