Hank Williams, Sr. wrote Hey, Good Lookin' for Dickens in half an hour on a sheet of paper provided by Minnie Pearl during a flight to Wichita, Kansas — and then cut the song himself a week later, just before Dickens went into the studio to record it.
Dickens was the longest running member of the Grand Ole Opry, from 1948 to his last appearance, Dec. 20, 2014. Below is Dickens in a cameo at 2:45 in Brad Paisley's Celebrity music video. (Other cameos here.)
