Eight Arizona GOP chuckleheads introduce wildly unconstitutional bill to make students swear to defend constitution against domestic enemies like themselves

From left: Sonny Borrelli (602-926-5051), Chester Crandell (602-926-5409), Jeff Dial (602-926-5550), David Livingston (602-926-4178), Carl Seel (602-926-3018), TJ Shope (602-926-3012), Steve Smith (602-926-5685) and "Constitutional Author" Bob Thorpe (602-926-5219).

You'd think that Arizona Republicans would be embarrassed that the Ridgenosed Rattlesnake/Bolo Tie state has the highest high school dropout rate in the USA and would want to do something meaningful about it.
Instead, they've sponsored HB 2467, which would prevent otherwise qualified Arizona high school students from graduating unless they swear to God (no exceptions for atheists or agnostics) that they have "freely" undertaken an obligation to defend the constitution against foreign and domestic enemies.
One of the sponsors, Thorpe, describes himself as a "Constitutional Author" but is evidently too stupid to have discovered that the Constitution itself provides an opt-out ("affirm") for atheists and agnostics who refuse to swear to god. It's in the presidential oath of office, which constitutional scholar Thorpe obviously has not bothered to read or else is too dumb to understand. From Wikipedia:
The oath of office of the President of the United States is an oath or affirmation required by the United States Constitution before the President begins the execution of the office. The wording is specified in Article Two, Section One, Clause Eight:
Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:— “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Here's the bill, which, if passed, will surely cost Arizona taxpayers a lot of money by the time the ACLU successfully sues to have it nullified:
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-701.03, to read:

15-701.03.  Graduation requirement; constitutional oath

Beginning in the 2013‑2014 school year, In addition to fulfilling the course of study and assessment requirements prescribed in this chapter, before a pupil is allowed to graduate from a public high school in this state, the principal or head teacher of the school shall verify in writing that the pupil has recited the following oath:

I, _________, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge these duties; So help me God.
