Dennis Sigafoose dies unexpectedly; he was the husband of Kate Gronstal, daughter of Iowa's Senate Majority leader

Dennis Sigafoose, 33, Assistant Golf Professional at Champion's Run, was reported by WHO-TV to have passed away unexpectedly this morning in his Council Bluffs home, apparently of natural causes, according to a Democratic staffer of his father-in-law, Mike Gronstal.

     Steve Sigafoose, Dennnis' father was a long-time sports editor for The Daily Nonpareil, who told the paper he was devastated.

     Sigafoose was described as a standout wrestler at Abraham Lincoln High School, from which he graduated in 1997.
     An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.
