Geographer rips Romney for citing his book — twice — to justify phony conclusions; doubts candidate even read it

Jared Diamond's book, Guns, Germs and Steel, won a Pulitzer Prize and Mitt Romney is exploiting the book's fame by distorting its message to buttress his view of economics and his contempt for Palestinians.
The author is not amused and recently took to the New York Times to set the record straight in an Op-Ed, entitled: Romney hasn't done his homework. Here is his parting shot:
Mitt Romney may become our next president. Will he continue to espouse one-factor explanations for multicausal problems, and fail to understand history and the modern world? If so, he will preside over a declining nation squandering its advantages of location and history.
