US Military ignored United Nations Human Rights Counsel rules on interviewing Bradley Manning
CBC's As It Happens reports that the US Government told the press one thing and the UN's Special Rapporteur on Torture another. Investigator Juan Mendez suspects military was trying to "break" Manning while it ignored UN conventions and denied access to Manning's medical records as well as unmonitored visitation, which it knew is unacceptable to the United Nations. The Pentagon also forbad unmonitored visits from family, friends and lawmakers.
