Hundreds protest in Lincoln, NE over Dave Heineman's refusal to act on TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline threat to Ogallala Aquifer; Gov. passes buck again

On Friday evening, Bold Nebraska hosted a "Shine a light on Heineman" flashlight protest to spotlight Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman's refusal to do anything meaningful to defend Nebraska landowners from trespassing and eminent domain threats from TransCanada's leaky Keystone Pipeline project, which would go through the Ogallala Aquifer in Nebraska. Heineman, who appeared to have disappeared from the Governor's Mansion last night, hasn't proposed any legislation to regulate the pipeline, has refused to call a special session of the Unicameral to address the issue, has falsely denied that Nebraska has siting authority over the project and on Friday attempted to blame Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) for the problem.
