GLSEN sends Family Research Council cease-and-desist letter over libelous FRC/Mass Resistance video

The FRC video accuses GLSEN of distributing a sexually explicit pamphlet to children promoting blah blah blah. What really happened was that someone from Fenway Community Health inadvertantly left on a table 10 pamphlets containing detailed information targeted at males 18 and older on avoiding HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Fenway Community Health rented the table at a conference sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network of Boston. The annual event, held on April 30 at Brookline High School, was aimed at high school students, educators, counselors, administrators, and parents.

This trivial mistake was reported by the Boston Globe in 2005 and elsewhere. GLSEN did not produce the booklet and does not distribute sexually explicit materials. On May 18, 2005, WHDH 7News Boston's Sean Hennessey reported that Brookline Superintendent of Schools William H. Lupini said that "none of his students, he believes, took the [Fenway] book home."

Despite the widely reported facts, Mass Resistance cooperated with the Family Research Council in the subsequent production of the following propaganda defaming GLSEN which sent FRC the cease-and-desist letter.
