'Authentic marriage' news:
former La. gov., 83, marries 32-year-old

Former La. Gov. Edwin Edwards, almost 84, Friday married a 32-year-old pen pal, (and we do mean "pen,") who befriended him during his eight years in the federal big house for bribery and extortion in a scheme to rig riverboat casino licenses during his fourth term as governor in the early 1990s.

The bride, Trina Grimes Scott, is his third wife. Her facebook page does not list an occupation even though it appears perfectly evident to AKSARBENT that she has one, if you catch our drift.

Edwards spent eight years in federal prison for his role in a bribery and extortion scheme to rig riverboat casino licenses during his fourth term in the early 1990s. In July, he completed six months of home detention and regular reporting to a Baton Rouge halfway.

As governor, Edwards, a Democrat, successfully brokered coalitions of urban and rural constituencies.

He was last elected, by a landslide, in 1991, when he faced former Ku Klux Klan wizard, Republican David Duke.

During his campaign, stickers appeared in New Orleans which read: "Vote for the Crook: It's Important."
