Heterosexual Fairbury, NE couple on Jerry Springer

Keith Trimm of the Beatrice Daily Sun, a terrific reporter, recounts without any detectible irony a local couple's experience on the popular (in some quarters) syndicated television program.
Asked why they decided to go on the show, Misty Henry said, “to get out of town and do something interesting.”
According to the couple, the show’s producer suggested they make up a storyline. Misty then asked Leah Peasley, a former girlfriend of her husband and also a Fairbury resident, to participate...
The trio appeared on an episode entitled “I had sex with my ex.”
The Daily Sun reported that the Henry's appearance was not compensated, although the couple received reimbursement for transportation to the Omaha airport, a babysitter and hotel rooms and food. During the segment the two women pushed and fought with each other.
They had to sign a waiver stating they would not sue the show for any injuries that occurred during the show and that the show would not bail them out of jail.
The couple did not get to meet Jerry Springer until they went on for the taping.
“He’s kind of skinny,” Misty said.
Before the show, she said they were given a list of words they were not allowed to say. When asked how much of the show is fake, Henry replied. “I think pretty much the whole thing”
“My daughter is 5 and she knew it was fake,” Misty said.
When asked if their appearance was a poor reflection on the city of Fairbury Misty insisted it was not.
