Gay speech teacher let go by Omaha Catholic school is quickly hired by public high school; he finally speaks out to media

KETV and KMTV (see video below) say at least one student at Skutt, which declined to renew Matthew Eledge's contract after he informed authorities he would be marrying his boyfriend, will be leaving Skutt for Millard North, which has hired the speech teacher who led Skutt to four consecutive state speech championships.
Eledge's de facto dismissal has created yet another public relations stink for the Omaha Archdiocese; 96,000 people have signed online petitions asking Omaha's Catholic hierarchy to behave differently.
Millard North High School Principal Brian Begley told KETV:
"Matthew was the most qualified candidate, and we are very pleased to hire someone of his talents, skill and abilities to support our students' learning needs."
And now, without the teacher who led the school to four consecutive state speech championships, a quality Catholic education at Skutt will be a little more Catholic and a little less in quality .

KETV aired video of Eledge attending the Skutt tuition-fundraiser, "Hawk Walk," at which dozens of students wore T-Shirts bearing messages of support.
