Bo Pelini, conversely, loves Nebraska football (enough to coach it, anyway) but isn't in love with Nebraskans:
Our crowd. What a bunch of fucking fair-weather fucking—they can all kiss my ass out the fucking door. 'Cause the day is fucking coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm fucking gone. I'm so fucking pissed off.Knief jetted in from the East Coast to back up Robert Fuller in his fight with La Vista Mayor Douglas Kindig, who also likes to swear. Amanda used to live in Omaha and worked for the World-Herald, where she obviously was never allowed to write any editorials.
Above: American Atheists Managing Director Amanda Knief addresses "Minorities Matter, Mr. Mayor" pushback to La Vista, Neb. mayor Douglas Kindig after he told the treasurer of Omaha Atheists, La Vista resident Robert Fuller, who objected to city participation in a Faith and Freedom celebration: "Take me to fucking court because I don't care. Minorities are not going to run my city."
La Vista right-wing apologists are claiming that churches sponsored the Faith and Freedom events and that the city only hosted them, as they would have for any other group, and therefore did not step over the church/state line. If that's true, maybe somebody could still sue La Vista for the false advertising implicit in its bait-and-switch "progressive vision" come-on.
Meagan Wilson, the president of Omaha Atheists, told AKSARBENT's correspondent that after Tuesday's meeting with La Vista's mayor, they will almost certainly voice their objections at the La Vista City Council meeting [unless, of course, Mayor Kindig offers a real apology or if aliens emerge from his stomach during their meeting.]
That meeting will be private, probably because Kindig doesn't want any of his unscripted remarks recorded, after having spent a busy week not answering requests for interviews from news outlets from around town and across the country concerning his concerning outburst last week.
Below: how KETV (ABC), KMTV (CBS) and FOX 42 (Roger Ailes/Rupert Murdoch Right Wing Crap Network) covered the event. WOWT (NBC) didn't show up, though it has covered the story. Video via OmahaAtheists.Org's twitter feed, @OmahaAtheists
Below: Fox 42's wide-eyed anchor breathlessly reveals that EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD, Atheists think "their voices should still be heard!" Why, the uppity nerve of some people!
