ThinkProgress Report: The NRA's Favorite Congressman

The radio interview was with Crash Davis last month. Davis was fired by Clear Channel's Omaha talk radio station shortly after his interview with Terry. Evidently Davis had become too much of a joke even for the foaming-at-the-mouth reactionaries who run KFAB.
Below is the poor slob going through the motions of asking a right wing radio echo chamber question — the very first puffball he lobbed at Terry. Part of the reason that KFAB's ratings are in a death spiral (other than firing Populist Reactionary Tom Becka, only to have him resurface at a local competitor) is that even Tea Party patsies get bored when the answer to a question is embedded in the damn question itself!
Is tomorrow looming, basically, as the biggest assault  towards our constitutional rights by a government that we've seen in some time, Congressman?"
Later, Davis said: "One of them was talking about how they wanted to give the government more access to crime statstics. How is that any law-abiding citizen's fault already? I mean you have the technology in place. You have the FBI supposedly works with all these states. Why is that even being brought up?"
What Davis seemed to be referring to was a fact he either pretended to be ignorant about or perhaps really WAS clueless about: Kansas Rep. Todd Tiarht's legislation to cut funding to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (and the CDC) for releasing even aggregate statistics about, for example, assault rifles used in crimes.
We'd advise Davis to start preparing for interviews by doing actual research, but it's probably too late for that now.
