Rep. Josh Byrnes (R-Mason City) talks about the beauty of the state of Iowa after voting to strip gay couples of all legal recognition

KIMT-TV interviewed Rep. Josh Byrnes on 19-year-old Zach Wahls' defense of his two moms and rebuke to Iowa House Republicans. Here's what Byrnes said:
It's educating me, it's culturing me on some different things that maybe I've never been exposed to before. And that's the beauty of the state of Iowa, is that we can have debate, people can express their viewpoints, they can express their concerns.
And then Byrnes and every other Iowa House Republican kicked his gay constituents to the curb by voting to advance HJR 6, which revokes marriage for same-sex couples AND slams the door shut on civil unions and domestic partnerships.

Because, you see, maybe poor Rep. Byrnes has never been exposed to any gay couples in Iowa and maybe his television set doesn't get Brothers and Sisters or Modern Family or Will & Grace.
