SD AG Marty Jackley to appeal gay marriage ruling; says state being 'forced' to treat gay couples equally

KSFY reports that South Dakota's GOP Attorney General, Marty Jackley, says he will appeal yesterday's federal court ruling that his state's gay marriage ban is unconstitutional.

"If there is going to be a change in that definition of marriage that change needs to come from a vote of the people in South Dakota, not being forced by the federal courts," Jackley said.
