Nebraska:
New restriction(s) in place: Reduced early voting period.
Effective date: In effect for first time in major election in 2014.
Background: In 2013, state lawmakers reduced the early voting period from a minimum of 35 days to no more than 30 days. Nebraska’s unicameral legislature is technically nonpartisan, but it is generally controlled by Republicans. The measure was signed by a GOP governor.
