Lt. Col. Jeffrey Krusinki, head of Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention and Response unit, is arrested for misdemeanor sexual battery

Lt. Col. Jeffrey Krusinki, head of Air Force
Sexual Assault Prevention and Response unit
He was drunk and grabbed a woman's breast and buttocks in a parking lot at 12:30 am. A Pentagon report scheduled to be released today indicates that an anonymous poll of military survey of personnel who were not required to reveal their identities showed the number of service members actually assaulted could be as many as 26,000, an increase over 19,000 estimated assaults in 2011.
Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., are drafting legislation likely to be included in the annual defense policy bill that will essentially strip military officers of the authority to overturn convictions for serious offenses such as sexual assault after congressional outrage over an Air Force officer's decision to reverse a jury verdict in a sexual assault case.
