Chicago firm helped Liz Mathis beat NOM, GOP, Cindy Golding, Citizens United and Iowa Family Leader

Greg Hinz, in his Chicago Business blog, explained how a Windy City political consulting and media firm, Adelstein Liston, played a key role in keeping gay marriage in Iowa safe for now. It produced the TV ads for Liz Mathis, who greatly outspent Cindy Golding.
Adelstein Liston principal Eric Adelstein said the Mathis campaign spent $500,000 on TV ads — an enormous sum for Iowa but a testament to how much attention the race gathered nationally.
Ironically, marriage was not a front-burner issue in the race, Mr. Adelstein says. What probably elected her, he says — beyond those fine TV ads, that is — is that Ms. Mathis is a well-known former TV reporter who came across as a non-politician.
