Iowa's Family Leader, headed by Bob Vander Plaats of Sioux City, shares its name with an identically-named national group whose board is LDS top-heavy. The Iowa Independent's Andy Koposa reports that Iowa Family Policy Center President Chuck Hurley insists the new incarnation of his organization has no affiliation whatsoever to the Mormon-led national group, despite sharing a name, numerous connections and an anti-gay marriage agenda.
