EastEnders plans gay dads storyline with Christian Clarke and Syed Masood

EastEnders will broadcast a gay surrogacy storyline, the first in a British soap opera. Albert Square couple Christian Clarke and Syed Masood will ask mother-of-three Glenda Mitchell (Glynis Barber) to help them become fathers by having their baby.
EastEnders is a long-running British television soap opera, first broadcast in the United Kingdom on BBC One in February 1985, according to Wikipedia. It currently ranks as one of the most watched shows in the UK. Within eight months of its launch, it reached the number one spot in the ratings, and has remained, almost consistently, among the top-rated TV programmes in Britain ever since. The average audience share for an episode is currently between 35% and 45%.
